PARALEGAL – REAL ESTATE (HOSPITALITY AND LEISURE) – CHICAGO, NEW YORK, PHOENIX, OR WASHINGTON, DC
Real Estate Paralegal – Hospitality & Leisure Practice
Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking a full-time Real Estate Paralegal to support its Hospitality & Leisure practice group. This position can be based in Chicago, New York, Phoenix, or Washington, DC, and will report to the Practice Group Leader, with day-to-day direction provided by assigned attorneys.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and coordinate due diligence, including review of title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and related documentation.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing real estate conveyance and closing documents.
- Manage all aspects of real estate closings for acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and equity transactions, including:
- Preparing signature page packages
- Managing document delivery
- Ensuring checklist compliance
- Handling recording requirements
- Assembling detailed closing books
- Prepare, review, and file UCC financing statements.
- Order and analyze UCC, lien, litigation, and similar searches.
- Handle entity formation and maintenance, including related filings.
- Review and compile officer’s certificates, resolutions, organizational documents, and other closing deliverables (drafting experience preferred).
- Conduct legal and factual research for special assignments and prepare related reports and filings.
- Communicate with clients and external parties regarding assigned matters.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or a Paralegal Certificate with equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of real estate experience, ideally in a law firm, in-house legal department, or title company.
- Experience with large, complex transactions and proficiency in title and survey review is required.
- Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Excellent client service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF tools, document management systems, and timekeeping software (e.g., Elite).
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $100,000 – $130,000, depending on experience. Our client offers a competitive benefits package, including:
