Real Estate Paralegal – Hospitality & Leisure Practice

Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking a full-time Real Estate Paralegal to support its Hospitality & Leisure practice group. This position can be based in Chicago, New York, Phoenix, or Washington, DC, and will report to the Practice Group Leader, with day-to-day direction provided by assigned attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and coordinate due diligence, including review of title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and related documentation.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing real estate conveyance and closing documents.
  • Manage all aspects of real estate closings for acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and equity transactions, including:
    • Preparing signature page packages
    • Managing document delivery
    • Ensuring checklist compliance
    • Handling recording requirements
    • Assembling detailed closing books
  • Prepare, review, and file UCC financing statements.
  • Order and analyze UCC, lien, litigation, and similar searches.
  • Handle entity formation and maintenance, including related filings.
  • Review and compile officer’s certificates, resolutions, organizational documents, and other closing deliverables (drafting experience preferred).
  • Conduct legal and factual research for special assignments and prepare related reports and filings.
  • Communicate with clients and external parties regarding assigned matters.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or a Paralegal Certificate with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of real estate experience, ideally in a law firm, in-house legal department, or title company.
  • Experience with large, complex transactions and proficiency in title and survey review is required.
  • Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Excellent client service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF tools, document management systems, and timekeeping software (e.g., Elite).

Compensation & Benefits
