Litigation Paralegal
Permanent Placements is seeking a Litigation Defense Paralegal for a national trial law firm in their Kansas City office. Candidates should have at least 3 years of law firm experience supporting multiple attorneys in state and federal court, ideally in insurance defense, civil litigation, transportation, premises, product, or general defense litigation. Candidates with Plaintiff experience is also good if they are open to a switch to the defense side. Candidates should be able to multitask, do e-filing, handle trial prep, maintain documents, be very well organized, handling & reviewing medical records. Candidates with experience doing medical chronologies and billing summaries are highly desired. Candidates with trial experience are a plus as this firm typically goes to trial.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel, as well as advanced skills with editing pdfs.
- Experience using case management software for file organization, document management and production.
- Proficiency with e-filing (state and federal level), docketing, preparing disclosure and discovery documents, preparing basic motions, preparing for depositions and trials, and trial assistance.
- Able and willing to travel for trials if needed.
